Which characters are in Another Eden Begins?

The main Another Eden Begins roster contains 19 characters: Aldo and 18 companions. The directory below follows the official character lineup, with short identity notes to help you recognize each person. It is a roster reference, not a ranking or a promise that every character joins during the opening chapters.

These are story identities rather than fixed combat classes. A character being described as a priest, samurai, or investigator does not by itself establish a particular skill, damage type, or recruitment requirement.

The names and identity cues come from the publisher's character profiles. The Steam description of Aldo's 18 companions explains why an “18 companions” description and a “19 characters” roster are not contradictory: one count includes the protagonist and the other does not.

Roster membership is not recruitment order

Use this list to check whether a character belongs to the main lineup. Do not use its row order as a walkthrough.

The official game description distinguishes Encounter Quests, Character Quests, and Kinship Quests, with Kinship content tied to developing connections. Those are different kinds of character content; seeing a companion's profile does not tell you which quest or story condition makes that companion available.

If you are checking a recruitment guide, look for the exact game title, the relevant story stage, and an identifiable quest. An instruction to pull a character from an original-game banner does not answer how to meet that character in Begins.

Keep DLC and original-game rewards separate

This is the publisher's 19-character main lineup, not a combined database of every DLC character, NPC, alternate outfit, and original-game unit. When comparing two lists, check what each one counts before assuming one is wrong.

Ramiu needs particular care. Her place in Begins and the purchase-bonus ticket named after her are not the same acquisition system. The official bonus details say that the Encounter Ramiu ticket is used in Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space. It is not a code that recruits her inside Begins.

For party decisions, the next useful information is what each available character can actually do in your playthrough: current skills, Chain Skill conditions, and whether the party has the roles you need. A familiar name or a place on this roster is not enough to choose a build.
