How long is Another Eden Begins?
There is a published under-25-hour clear report from RPGFan's Zach Wilkerson, and an earlier roughly 50-hour estimate including a second run in 4Gamer's preview. They describe different scopes. They should not be combined into a “25–50 hour average.”
If you are deciding whether the game fits your schedule, first decide what finishing means to you: reaching a clear, continuing into New Game+, or completing every optional objective. The sources below do not supply a measured average for all three.
The two figures and what they actually mean
| Figure | Source and context | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Fewer than 25 hours | Zach Wilkerson's RPGFan review, September 13, 2026; Microsoft Windows | One critic's reported clear, not a population average or full-completion result |
| Approximately 50 hours including a second run | 4Gamer's development-stage preview, April 2026 | An expected playtime discussed in preview coverage, not the writer's measured final-game completion |
Wilkerson explicitly says he did not come close to completing every side quest. His clear time therefore should not be relabeled a completionist time. The report also does not establish a fixed duration for every player's reading pace and route.
The 4Gamer figure includes a second run. Dividing it in half would not prove the duration of either run, and comparing it directly with a single clear would hide the scope difference.
Why a first clear is not the whole time commitment
The official game information describes New Game+ after completing the main story, with additional story developments and more than ten endings. That gives players a reason to continue, but it does not establish how many hours every ending requires or how much content every player will repeat.
For a realistic personal budget, separate these goals:
- A clear: use the reported critic's experience as a reference point, not a deadline.
- A second run: allow a separate block of time instead of assuming the first clear includes it.
- Extensive optional content: no verified completionist average is established by the two sources above.
Buying DLC is another scope change. Neither figure should be described as the measured duration of the base game plus every additional character pack.
Use the demo to judge pace, not calculate a total
The official demo covers the first six chapters. It can help you judge whether the reading, exploration, and session length suit you, with progress transferable through the publisher's instructions.
Do not multiply your demo time by an assumed chapter ratio. The sources used here do not establish that chapters have equal duration, or provide a verified full chapter directory from which to calculate a total.
A practical approach is to note how much of a normal evening you enjoy spending with the demo and whether you want to pursue its optional activities. That personal pace is more useful for scheduling than treating another person's clear time as a target you must match.
Is it a 25-hour game or a 50-hour game?
Neither label is a complete answer. One is based on a critic finishing in less than 25 hours; the other is an earlier estimate that includes a second run. This guide keeps those descriptions attached to the numbers and does not invent a completionist average.
For a purchase decision, budget for the goal you actually want and leave room for optional content. The figures above were checked on September 16, 2026 and can be supplemented with later, clearly scoped playtime reports without creating a separate version of this page.
